Congratulations to our new Bishop, Michael J. Sis of the Diocese of San Angelo.
“Catholic Charities provides immediate assistance and educates to empower for long-term self-sufficiency”.
We strive to meet this goal by assisting families facing hardship, with funds, advocacy, and educational training. We primarily serve those in Ector County that are needing assistance with emergency funds. Our Cory Learning Center is offered to anyone who would like to improve their education and workforce skills.
“The Promise was that when the glass was full, it would overflow, benefitting the poor. But what happens instead, is that when the glass is full, it magically gets bigger – nothing ever comes out for the poor” Pope Francis

Annual Gift of Hope Campaign
Whoever has a bountiful eye will be blessed, for he shares his bread with the poor. Proverbs 22:9
Our client choice food pantry provided over 7,300 services of food last year. It costs the agency $50,000 a year to operate the pantry. Please say you have the willingness to share your blessings with our fellow community members in need.
The client choice style is similar to a mini grocery store. It provides clients with the freedom and power of selection, reduces possible waste, provides healthier food options, customizes food amounts based on household size and identifies any underlying obstacles that may prevent one from self-sufficiency. Not only does the pantry provide food, clients are also able to get toiletries and basic necessities. We primarily order our food from the West Texas Food Bank at a very low cost compared to what a donor would pay at the grocery store. This Gift of Hope Campaign allows us to use the donated funds to purchase food, necessities and maintain the pantry.
We are always welcoming businesses, schools, parishes and organizations to conduct food drives. The following are items that we are always in need of: Spam, Canned Chicken or Tuna, Crackers, Peanut Butter Crackers, Toilet Paper, Soap, Deodorant, Socks, Underwear and Baby Diapers.
